Sligo is one of the most beautiful counties in Ireland. There are 5 islands within easy reach. A short 30min trip will bring you to the two beautiful islands in the inner Sligo bay. Coney and Oyster. Another 25 min will bring you to the two outer islands, Ardbolin and Horse Islands. While another 25 min will bring you to Innismurray .
Visit the lighthouse and search for mushrooms on Oyster Island, or explore the beaches and have a pint in Cullen's bar on Coney Island.
Ardbolin and Horse Islands have never been inhabited and are the natural home to large colony's of birds. Oyster and Coney are still inhabited though both have the true island feel to them. Inishmurray, on the other hand was occupied for thousands of years but was abandoned in the early part of the last century
